I originally started my copywriting business to create a certain quality of life for my son and me. My goal in becoming self-employed was never to get rich (though I certainly wouldn’t turn down the opportunity!), but to make a difference. To change lives. To leave the world somehow better by showing up every day and sharing my gifts with the world through my work.
Saturday, I received a very nice email letting me know that the Georgia House of Representatives passed a bill that targeted sex trafficking. You can read about the bill, which has yet to go to the state senate, here.
While I’m glad to know that legislators are now beginning to understand and take action against human trafficking, I was thrilled to know that an article I wrote about child sex trafficking was used by a legislator in committee meetings to raise support for the bill. Read that article here.
But don’t stop there. Write your own congressman and let him or her know that human trafficking in all its forms must stop. Then tell someone else. Little by little, we can all use our gifts to make a big difference.
